The lockdown measures take effect at 11:59pm tomorrow, 1 July, 2020 and will be in place until at least 29 July, 2020 (four weeks).
There are only four things people living in these areas can leave home for:
• Shopping for food and supplies
• care and caregiving
• exercise
• and study or work – if you can’t do it from home
WHAT IT MEANS FOR MEMBERS AND THEIR EMPLOYEES:
• If you live in one of these postcodes you can continue to travel outside for work if required
• If you work in one of these postcodes you can continue to travel into those postcodes if required
• Its important that if you live in these postcodes you return back home directly after work
• There will be 'booze bus-style' vehicle checks in some areas for cars going in and out of those postcodes. It's important for those travelling in and out of those postcodes that they are aware of this for possibly longer travel times, and to be ready to provide correct information about where they are working
• Those living and working in all other parts of Melbourne and Victoria must be vigilant in following current protocols and restrictions so as to minimise any risk of these measures being introduced elsewhere, and for all of our collective health -
